Until recently, I haven’t done any serious drawing for around 10 years, but some of what I did all these years ago I still had in a display folder and they are in fairly good condition still. I can’t reference the original artists for any of these, but my kudos goes out to them.
Time for a trip down memory lane:
Wolverine vs Sauron (1995):
This will have to be my favourite one, and it was done when I was just 15. This one made it up on the wall :) (Not that I can remember, but I can see the tack residue on the paper)
Death of Peter Parker (1995):
Another one from 1995. This one is of Spider-Man and was based on the death of Peter Parker story line.
X-Men (1995)
This is collection of various X-Men characters.
The following characters are included within the picture: Rogue; Jean Grey; Beast; Gambit; Arch Angle; Storm; Jubilee; Ice Man; Cyclopes; Bishop; Professor X; Random; Wolverine; Psylocke; and Sabretooth.
Death Row Records (1996)
This is a sketch of the Death Row Record’s logo.
Juggernaut (1996)
This is the Juggernaut Bitch! (Watch the video, very funny)
Captain America (1996)
A sketch of Captain America
“Hollywood” Hulk Hogan (1997)
This is a painting of Hulk Hogan. Not much more done in 97. Must of been busy with VCE
Wolverine (1998)
Another wolverine, but this one has been inked.
This seems to be the last one if did back then. There were a few others, but nothing special. It was fun look back and see what I did back then.
I’ve always been a fan of Batman, watching the movies and the various TV shows throughout the year, but oddly enough I’ve never read any batman comics. Well, at last years Melbourne Armageddon Expo one of my favourite comic book artists came to town: Jim Lee:
At this point I hadn’t read any comic books for while and I only knew him for was his work on X-Men. Since then he has been a busy guy and one of his projects involved working on Batman for the Batman Hush story. So I guess it was fitting that the first batman comic that I read was Batman Hush, which has been the inspiration for my second drawing project (my one is the one in pencil :P):
The original reference image was from the Cover of Batman #608, and the original artists were: Jim Lee (Pencils) and Scott Williams (Inker).
I’m not sure what I’m going to do next. Just going to have to flick through what I have to find the next project.
Although I’ve finished all my after hours studying at the end of last year, it still seems that I’m always busy (being busy), and as a result I haven’t had enough time to concentrate on building up my 3D animation skills. I have a few “work in progress”, but nothing complete that is ready to show. The sad reality is that 3D modelling takes a lot of time and effort (and patience), therefore it has taken a back seat for other projects; namely drawing.
It has been years since I’ve done any serious drawing. I think the last I time I did was back in high school, so that was 10 years ago now. So last long weekend, since I had a bit of free time I went to Office Works, picked up some supplies and was all set to start a new project. I had the tools, now I needed the “What?”, so I started scouring through the comics I’ve been reading and found a cool Wolverine vs Sabretooth picture:
And the outcome:
I think it turned up quite good. A few sizing/proportion errors, but otherwise it looks fine. I enjoyed getting back into drawing and will being doing more (actually I’ve already done another, but that is for another post). If you look close to the decapitated Sabretooth, you’ll see some discolouring in the paper. That Is where I spilled my Pepsi Max. Thankfully I was using a quality drawing paper and the damage is minimal.
The original reference image if from Wolverine #55 (Volume 3), and the original artists were: Simone Bianchi (Pencils); Simone Bianchi & Andrea Silvestri (Ink & Washed Halftones); and Simone Peruzzi & Frank D’Armata (Colours).
The fourth project of the Certificate III in Media was to use a technique called blend shapes to have two character heads talking to each other. The requirement was just to have basic heads in sync with the dialogue, but I wanted to model the heads of the caters for the practice. The following is the result. Some of the dialogue is out of sync, but not a bad result:
The third project of the Certificate III in Media was to create a body for the face created in project 2:
The second project of the Certificate III in Media was to create a 3D face. This project was a lot more involved than the first project and I believe that the result was much better:
The first project of the Certificate III in Media that I completed at the end of last year was to create a 3D room. This was the first time that I did any 3D modelling, so I think the result didn’t turn out too bad:
A while back (when the Aussie Dollar was worth something) I came across LiveAutographs.com, where celebrities autograph memorabilia while reading out a personalised message to you (or the intended recipient). One of the celebrities was Hulk Hogan so we decided to get one for my father in law. Well 6 months later it finally arrived (just before Christmas too) :)
As of yesterday, it is now full framed and up on the wall in my father in law’s lounge room.
Check out the personalised video:
And here are a few pictures of the framed belt:
Awesome!
It is a new year, so what am I going to do this year? Well here are my goals for the year (in no particular order):
That seems like enough goals for now. Some of these are simple and I would easily achieve, most are fairly involved and only time will tell how successful I am in achieving these. We'll see in 6 months time when I do a mid year review to see how I'm tracking.
Time to create some carnage,
Andrew
Welcome to CyberCarnage.com.au, a little place on the net created by me to honour me and my awesomeness :)
Who am I do you ask? I am who I am, nothing more, nothing less (but if you want a little bio, go here).
The goals of this site are:
Let the carnage begin,
